Jeannette Richard Dicerni

1922-2025

Jeannette Richard Dicerni passed away peacefully in her home, on October 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Into her 104th year, Jeannette inspired all who knew and loved her with her kindness, her warmth and her spirit.

Predeceased by her husband Dominic and son Richard, Jeannette was lovingly cared for by her daughter Caroline. With Caroline’s loving support, Jeannette lived out her days with grace and style in the home she loved. The week before her passing, she and Caroline enjoyed an outing to their golf course and a lunch on the terrace.

Born in Lachine, Quebec in 1922, Jeannette was the youngest of nine siblings. In 1947 she married Dominic Dicerni and the couple had two children, Richard and Caroline. She would later become ‘Nanny’ to her grandchildren Suzanne (David Washburn) and Patrick (Lindsay Knox) and much beloved Nanny to her great grandchildren, Jack, Andy, Emmett, Elliette, Isabel and Genevieve.

Blessed as she was to remain vibrant into very old age, Jeannette was often asked to share her secret to continued good health. Never one to draw attention to herself, she would counsel others to try to enjoy small pleasures in life, enjoy a delicious desert, to have faith that struggles will pass. She treasured her family, took delight in playing games with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She maintained and nurtured her many decades-long friendships. People of all ages were drawn to her twinkling blue eyes and warm smile. She was a brilliant and determined golfer. She was a gifted knitter and leaves heirloom quality pieces to be handed down to her many great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Jeannette’s life will take place Friday, November 7th, 2025 from 2 to 5 pm at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, QC. Please join us in celebrating the long, beautiful life of Jeannette “Nanny” Richard Dicerni.

Donations in Jeannette’s name to a charitable organization of your choosing in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
