John (Janos) Acs
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John (Janos/Jancsi) Acs on October 20, at the age of 88.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Eva Acs (née Soltesz), his beloved parents, Emil Acs and Ibolya Acs (née Kallai), and his uncles, Laszlo Kallai and Andor Kallai. He is survived by his son, Andrew Acs.
A devoted son, loving husband, dedicated father, and loyal friend, John lived a full and generous life, guided by his deep love for family, his many friends, and his remarkable eagerness to help others.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, he came to Canada in 1957 and was forever grateful for the life he was able to build here and for all that Canada represented to him.
He was an avid skier, tennis player, and pastry chef. A former airline employee and travel agent, his greatest joy was traveling the world and organizing ski group trips to Europe for 43 years.
He will be remembered for his laugh, his smile, and his friendship. He touched the lives of countless people and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, QC H9S 2B3, on October 31st from 2 to 4 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate John’s remarkable life.
