In Lachine, Quebec at the Lachine Hospital at the age of 68, Richard "Richie" Brais passed away on August 14th, 2026. He had a three-year-long battle with cancer through which his strong religious faith helped to carry him.

He is survived by his wife Isabel Randall, his brother Gilles, other family members and friends.

Richie was kind-hearted and  always ready and willing to help family, friends, or strangers alike. His endless kindness will be truly missed along with his infectious laughter and broad smile.

He had many interests such as his lifelong passion for fast engines, classic cars, watching Formula 1 and Nascar races, attending car shows and going for long drives on the waterfront or in the countryside, shopping, playing games and solving crossword puzzles. Richie was also an avid collector of car books, car magazines and 1/32 slot cars. Additionally, he had a natural talent for woodworking, working on cars, or working with plexiglass.

He will be forever missed beyond measure. May he now be driving a classic car with a "souped up" engine and blasting classic rock music on the radio in heaven where he belongs.
