On July 26, 2026, Mr. Peter Lay passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mrs. Nicole Guillemette and the son of the late Bernard Surya and the late Margaret Boen.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves to mourn his children: Mathieu (Trish Sims) and Geneviève (Iain Batchen); his grandchildren: Kaleb, Samantha, Zoë and Finlay; his brother John (Megumi Shibata) and his sister Josie (the late Eddie Tan); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Guillemette family: the late Lucille (the late Henri-Louis Fortier), the late Benoît (Jacqueline Pelchat), the late Robert (the late Marguerite Gagné), the late Monique (the late Louis Ste-Croix), Jean-Louis (Gertrude Giguère), Louise (the late André Roy), Suzanne (Pierre Côté), Roland (Nicole Bilodeau), the late Françoise (the late Ernest Provencher) and Grégoire (Rose-Marie Di Maria); as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Teresa-Dellar Palliative Care Residence, as well as our dear family friend Josie El-Kahi, for their compassion and kindness.

The family will receive condolences at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord-du-Lac, Dorval, QC H9S 2B3, on Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a ceremony in the chapel.
