Suzanne Mayrand

Surrounded by her close family, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Suzanne Mayrand after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Suzanne was devoted to her family and deeply cherished the times when everyone was together. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 41 years, Brian; her two sons, Stephan and Chris (Meghan), whom she adored; her siblings, Jacques (Diane), Pauline (Yvon), and Nicole, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories, celebrations, and everyday moments; as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Gabby; her father, André; and her dear brother, Claude.

Suzanne met Brian while working at Bell, and together they built a beautiful life in Dorval. They welcomed their sons, Stephan and Chris, and shared many cherished experiences, including travelling, vacationing at their family condo in Tremblant, and volunteering their time with organizations such as the Special Olympics.

Suzanne spent many meaningful years raising her boys before returning to school at night to fulfill her dream of becoming a social worker. She was proud of her career and of the opportunity it gave her to support, advocate for, and care for others. Through her compassion and dedication, she touched the lives of many people, leaving a lasting impact on those she helped.

Suzanne lived an active and full life. She enjoyed playing bridge and could often be found swimming laps—activities that brought her both joy and connection with others. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Suzanne will be remembered for her exceptional organizational skills and for being the self-appointed family historian—she believed no memory was too small to be remembered and cherished. She documented the life she built in great detail through photographs, notes, family trees, and thorough timelines, which now serve as a lasting gift for her loved ones to remember her and the fullness of her life.

The family will receive condolences at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel, followed by a private burial for immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne’s memory to NOVA West Island (https://www.novawi.org) or the Teresa-Dellar Palliative Care Residence (https://residencesoinspalliatifs.ca/en/donate/), two organizations that provided exceptional care and support to both Suzanne and her family. The family extends their deepest gratitude to both organizations for their compassion and kindness.
