Desneiges Cecile (Moreau) Megannety

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Desneiges passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 27th, 2025, at the age of 90. Desneiges was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on November 14th, 1934 to Zepherin and Cecile (Poulin) Moreau. She was pre-deceased by her parents, brother Marcel and his wife Marcelle, as well as her loving husband Conor and daughter Karen. Mum and Dad were married for 58 years. Desneiges is survived by her sons Stephen and Neal, her daughter-in-law Ruth, and her niece and nephew, Sonia and Richard. Desneiges also leaves behind her six grandchildren, Matthew, Colin, Meagan, Michele, Danielle (Mike), and Patrick (Emily), and her great-granddaughter Aubree.

Desneiges was a force to be reckoned with. She was strong, loving, supportive, and passionate about everything she did. She had a competitive spirit and loved to play bridge. She was also an avid golfer, tennis player, skier and a talented seamstress. In her retirement years, Mum loved spending time at her Condo in Orlando, Florida.

Desneiges had a great sense of adventure. She worked as a nurse (St. Mary’s Nursing School), a flight attendant (Trans-Canada Airlines), and had a long succesful career in the Canadian pulp and paper industry before retiring and going on to start her own wreath business.

Desneiges was strong and independent, but more than anything she loved her family and would do anything for them. She adored her grandchildren and they loved their Nanny. She was so happy and excited to be a great-grandmother to Aubree.

We will cherish our beautiful memories of Desneiges and her love and legacy will live on in us. We love you big, big, big!

A Private Burial Service will take place this summer. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Maxwell Residence staff for the wonderful care Desneiges received from them over the past two years.
