Howard Guseck

1926-2026

Howard lived life to the fullest – one hundred years of it, in fact. From his roots in Shawinigan, Quebec and his father's work at the famed hydroelectric plant there to his upbringing in Town-of-Mount-Royal as a decorated Boy Scout who learned to fly planes, he was a motivated student and this eventually evolved into Howard becoming a determined and successful entrepreneur and loving family man.

At just under thirty years old, he worked his way up to Vice-President of the Purdy & Henderson Company. Five years later, he was also President of Industrial Realty Corporation, and on and on it went. His company built several of the buildings still standing in one form or another in Western Montreal.

He was married and widowed twice and fathered two children – one from each marriage. A proud Boy Scouts Canada leader, a civic-minded long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Pine Beach Citizens’ Association in Dorval, a special friend for several decades to the later light of his life – the late Liette Carrière – there were few lives he didn't touch. Howard will be extensively missed by son Stephen, dear friends and honorary family members Charles Carrière and Jasmine Wang, and so many more in the community and in the extended family he helped nurture for a multitude of decades.

A memorial service will be held to honour Howard's life at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home on Saturday, September 26th at 3:00 P.M., preceded by two hours of public visits scheduled between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. that afternoon.
