George Edward (Skip) Goodfellow
1939 – 2026
In loving memory of George Edward (Skip) Goodfellow.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Skip Goodfellow on April 23, 2026 at the Jewish General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents George Goodfellow and Louisa Ellen Merrill, and his brother James Goodfellow.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 54 years Alison; his very special daughters Kimberley (Paul) and Lyndsay (Justin); cherished grandchildren Madison, Leo, Makenzie-Rose, and Pixie-Lily; his nephew Michael; dear cousins Lyla (the late Andy Stockdale) and the late Robert Ashfield, as well as numerous other cousins, relatives and friends in both Canada and the UK.
Skip enjoyed life to the fullest. He had many friends through all his life.
He loved to travel, especially to the UK and Naples, Florida, and always wanted to explore somewhere new.
He loved his business life as a financial planner and enjoyed helping his many clients. He was very well respected by all of them.
Skip enjoyed all sports, and played hockey, football, rugby, skiing, etc. He loved his skiing days and had very fond memories of his membership with the Vagabond Ski Club that had chalets both in Saint-Sauveur in the Laurentians, and Stowe, Vermont, where he met his wife Alison. Even though this was way back in the 60’s, life spent with the Vagabonds always came up in conversation with other members of the ski club that he met up with through the rest of his life.
One of his passions was Formula 1 racing. He was a flagger on the track for many years, especially at Mont-Tremblant, and enjoyed chatting with his friends about racing at the Green Hornet Tavern in Pointe-Claire on a regular basis.
He was very fond of all forms of music, especially classical music. He very much enjoyed Beethoven, Mozart, and many other composers, along with the music of Johann Strauss presented by André Rieu. He loved Pavarotti, Glenn Miller… the list goes on!
Skip lived his life his way to the end and what a wonderful life that was!
