Jean Desrochers
1937 – 2026
Jean Desrochers passed away on January 31st, 2026, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Denyse; his children Gilles (Laura), Anne, and Louis (Melissa); his grandchildren Patrick (Brittany), Jacob (Rachelle), Olivia (Jesse), Samuel (Élisabeth), Philippe (Kassidy), Jonathan (Emma), Aaron (Sasha) and Madeleine; his great-grandson Luc; his sister Marie-Paule and many relatives and friends.
Born on March 12, 1937, and raised in Montreal, Jean went on to become an engineer after graduating from Polytechnique. He married Denyse in 1961, and soon after his work took him and Denyse to the Eastern Townships, where they began raising their family. In 1974, the family—now with a daughter and two sons—moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, where they lived for four years. Upon returning to Montreal, Jean went into business for himself and ran his company until retirement. In later years, Jean started and managed a vineyard for a time, but his greatest joy was always the moments he spent with his grandchildren.
We would like to thank the many caregivers that supported Jean and his family during his time at the Cambridge residence.
Visitation will be held at the Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home (560 Lakeshore, Dorval, H9S 2B3) from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, February 22nd, immediately followed by a ceremony in the funeral home’s chapel.
