Roland Legault
1947 – 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Legault on May 26, 2025, at the age of 78.
Roland lived a life full of conviction, character, and charisma. He began his career as a dedicated police officer for the Québec provincial police, now called the Sûreté du Québec, serving his community with honor and resilience. His commitment to justice and his unwavering sense of duty left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside him.
Beyond his career in law enforcement, Roland was a man of many talents and passions. A great hockey player in his younger years, he brought the same intensity and teamwork from the rink into everything he did. At the remarkably young age of 42, Roland retired from the SQ and boldly embraced a new chapter as an entrepreneur.
Roland truly enjoyed the pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for good food, great wine, wonderful company, and lively conversation. He loved being surrounded by friends, and few could match his gift for a good-natured argument. Whether he was challenging someone’s opinion or making them laugh with a clever quip, Roland was never one to shy away from sharing exactly what he thought was the truth.
He will be remembered for his strong spirit and the unforgettable presence he brought into people’s lives.
Roland leaves behind his son Daniel (wife Claire), his daughter Chantal, his grandchildren Carl, Fanny (Francis), Samuel, Anne-Marie (Kevin), and his great-grandchildren Lyam and Mayson, as well as his sisters Françoise (Claude), Louise, and Sylvie.
Roland will never be forgotten. His most precious legacy is how he marked our lives with his countless stories of the good old days in Dorval, his hockey tales, fishing stories, and yes, some stories we simply can’t share with the public.
May you rest in peace.
