Marina Joyce Bobbitt
1937-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished sister, aunt, and friend, Marina Bobbitt, on September 1st, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in the small fishing village of Harrington Harbour on the Lower North Shore, Marina spent her early years surrounded by the beauty of her hometown before moving to Montreal at the age of 16.
Marina was the beloved daughter of Irene and Henry Bobbitt, both of whom have predeceased her. She was a devoted sister to Audrey Thompson (Walter, deceased), Annie May Burgermeister (Guy Dumouchel), and Fay Carbray (Neil), both of whom have also passed, as well as Andrew Bobbitt, who is deceased. Marina is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss her infectious laughter, her openness, and her generous heart.
Marina dedicated her entire professional career to one employer, the Sun Life Corporation, where she faithfully served for 42 years. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her generosity, supporting several charities and her church through years of heartfelt giving.
A passionate sports fan, Marina closely followed the NFL and was an avid supporter of the Canadiens. She enjoyed discussing games and was always ready to share her opinions, especially during Sunday NFL matches.
During her last month, Marina was cared for with kindness and generosity by the wonderful staff at Lakeshore General Hospital, who ensured her final days were as comfortable as possible.
Visitations will take place on October 18 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home (560 Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, H9S 2B3), immediately followed by a service in the funeral home’s chapel.

Always a smile and never a complaint. She was loved by all. Rip.
Tom, Mike and I (Peter), sons of her sister Fay, knew her as Auntie Rina to say she will be missed as an understatement. She was kind, generous, and loving and her smile lit up a room; is what we will remember the most. Her loving punch in the arm (with a smile) when babysitting us let us know, we were safe and in good hands and not to try any funny business on her shift 😂. Three hearts from the CARBRAY BOYS! Auntie Rina. ❤️❤️❤️
