Margaret Anna Proulx (Manci)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret (Manci) Varga Proulx on March 29, 2025, at the age of 89.
Manci is predeceased by her beloved husband, Pete, with whom she shared over 50 years of love, companionship, music and travel. Travel was one of their greatest passions. Together they were fortunate to visit (and live in) many parts of the globe, collecting stories, friendships and unforgettable experiences.
Manci is also predeceased by her parents Julia and Alexander Varga, her sister-in-law Carol Proulx, brother-in-law Joe Whalen and nephews Eric and Pierre.
Sister to Julie Nyisztor (Julius) and Liz Whalen. Sister-in-law to Anne-Marie Proulx (Eugène) and Michel Proulx. Aunt to Carol, Danny, Laurie, Charles, Phil, Joe, Mary, Martin and Danielle. Manci will be missed by her many great nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers who supported Manci with such compassion and dedication over the last year of her life.
A celebration of Manci’s life will be held Saturday June 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Road, Dorval, Quebec.
Interment will take place at a later date at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
