Vera Hanson Bird

1934 – 2025

Peacefully, at the Montreal Neurological Hospital after a brief illness.  Vera was born in Lower Hainesville, N.B. to loving parents Ralph and Amelia Hanson and is survived by her son, Timothy, daughter, Kimberly (Brent), grandsons Benjamin (Acaisha), Matthew (Samantha), great granddaughter, Kaia and her loving husband Phil.

Vera and Phil were married in New Brunswick in 1957, moved to Montreal in 1958, then to Pointe Claire in 1961 and finally Beaconsfield in 1972, where they have lived in the same house for the last 53 years.  It was after the move to Beaconsfield that Vera began her very successful real estate career with Montreal Trust and Royal LePage.  Growing up with such a large family, 3 brothers and 6 sisters, made her a kind, loving, generous and caring person, who could also be very firm and direct when necessary.  All these qualities served her so well in life and made her the outstanding lady that she was.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Montreal Neuro:  (stroke program or area of your choice).

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 26 at 1 pm at the Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Rd, Dorval.
