It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Estrella Sy, who left us suddenly on September 26, 2025, at the age of 79. She is lovingly survived by her cherished daughter, Leslie Mae (Jorge-Luis), her beloved fur grandson, Cody, her older sister Lourdes (Nasir), her younger brother Hermogenes Jr., and her former sister-in-law Gabrielita.

Estrella will be fondly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and grace by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Sy, Guillen, Martinez, and Rosario families.

Having dedicated over 30 years to public health, Estrella made a lasting impact through her work at Lachine General Hospital, Father Dowd Residential Centre, and the Jewish Hospital of Hope. Her colleagues and friends will deeply miss her kindness and commitment.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 ch. Bord-du-Lac, Dorval, QC H9S 2B3.

A celebration of life Mass will take place on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Veronica’s Parish, followed by interment at 12:30 pm at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2A6.
